Exports from West Azarbaijan doubles

ORUMIEH, Jan. 2 (MNA) – The value of exported goods from customs offices and border markets in West Azarbaijan province has more than doubled in the past nine months.

West Azarbaijan customs administration supervisor said 476,870 tons of goods worth over $407 million has passed through the six border markets and six customs offices of the province, the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) stated.

 

Parviz Taqavi added that the exported goods include agricultural products, fruit juices and plastic products exported to Iraq, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan and Russia.

 

He added that during this period the highest amount of goods, 203,000 tons, were exported through Piranshahr.

 

The official pointed out that 442,506 tons of goods worth $397 million were imported to the country via the province.

 

The imported goods consisted of agricultural machinery, raw material for factories, car spare parts and heavy-duty machinery.
